Friday Try-Day Cards and Projects

Last month our Friday Try-Day project was a Card Box ensemble to hold cards for all occasions.

It is nice to have an organized place for all of the cards we create as we are learning all of the new techniques we try out, and those great designs we CASE from Pinterest!  LOL

Today I am sharing one of our Friday Try-Day cards from April, which was waiting in the box for a time, sadly, when it would be needed to cheer someone in need.

"Just a Little Prayer"

The inside sentiment says "That God will keep you in His care".

That seems appropriate for the 

I FEEL THE LOVE PROJECT for this month.

This blog, and the work they do is very precious to me. 

Madison, the teenage founder of this Non-profit organization is a talented

young woman with a giant heart.  Since she was 16 years old she has chosen a different family

 each month that could benefit

 from receiving handmade cards. 

This month's story is of a 6 month old angel named 

Baby Mason

who was born with special needs,

and then tragically died at the hands of a drunk driver. 

My card will be delivered to his grieving parents.

There is a new mission every month.  

The lace stamp set as well as the sentiments are available from Close To My Heart.

The lace was heat embossed in white onto pale gray cardstock,

then distressed with Sapphire Blue ink over the top.  Use a paper towel

to buff the image and bring the white back to brilliance.

The butterfly was cut from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, also from CTMH. 

The pearl brads are from Making Memories.

Mat with black, and mount on a blue card.

Line with another gray insert with the sentiment stamped in blue.

"I Feel the Love" and Class tonight

This is a card I made to send to the parents and family of sweet little

Olivia Cappelluti. 

She passed through this life, like a shining shooting star, for just a few short months.

Sympathy cards are very difficult to make, but reaching out is so important.

That is the challenge that a wonderful young lady, Madison, at Funky Cards has done, and I am asking you to share her vision, and help send a bit of comfort to this family by the end of January. Click here for all of the details.

Purrfect Memories ...

This precious kitty is a very special new Digital image from Digital Delights by LoubyLoo.  It is one of Wendy's tenderly inspired sympathy cards for those who have lost beloved furbabies.  Be sure to check out the gallery and blog to see the other images (especially the Pearly Gates with the doggy and kitty doors!), and what the other designers have created.  She is introducing Pet Angels, and also a cheerful set of Astronaut Billy and his Rocket this month!  The prices are very reasonable, and come in line images, as well as fully colored.

My card is on a pink cardstock background, with Canson textured paper then a layer of Whisper White.  The edge punch is from Martha Stewart.  The ribbons are from my stash.  The Kitty was colored with Copics, and the wings were glittered with Sparkling Snow Glitter by Sparkle N Sprinkle.   The outside sentiment was computer generated, and the inside says "With Sympathy on the Loss of your Cat" from Digital Delights.

Be Inspired #19

This is my card for this week's Cuttlebug Challenge Be Inspired #19. The challenge was to emboss acetate - easy and I love the outcome. I wish my reason for the card weren't a sad one...a dear friend, Audie, passed away this week, and I am sending this card to her husband, Ed. He will know I put a lot of love and prayers into it. I made the card from kraft paper, embossed the acetate with the Stylized Flowers folder, and colored the back side with Sharpie markers. I attached the acetate on the left edge with ATG tape. The cathedral trim is made with a Martha Stewart punch. The bottom edge was trimmed with pinking shears. The words were computer generated. I embossed the image on the left, and colored it with LePlume pens, and added it to the top of the card with dimensionals. The sheer ribbon is from Michael's. The pearls add a touch of sweet elegance, and anchor the message. Inking is with chalk inks. I can't wait to see what you do with embossed acetate!!!

SympathyCard

This card was done for one of the Cricut MB girls when she lost her dear sister. The inside says "We feel a little bit of Heaven in our Home". The papers are the same as Tori's birthday card, and the Rose is from Walk in My Garden.
