Under The Sea Crop Fun

As any of you who have attended my crops know, I love having fun with the theme, and this time I really hit the nail on the head!  It is Under The Sea, and we are practically drowning here in Florida with TS Debby sitting off the coast and pounding us with rains, winds, tornadoes, and high surf.   This crop happens to span two weekends, and here are some fun shots from last weekend.  There is a big group coming next weekend, too!
 Mikayla fishing for door prizes.

Claire dressed in her "Fascinator" for the Seahorse Derby!

Brenda with "Sparky" and Gail with "Desti" getting their steeds ready for the races :)

It looks like the road in front of my house is the perfect place for actual
Seahorse Races!!

Since we are having intermittant power outages
due to TS Debby, I will not be having my UStream Class tonight.
Stay safe, and I'll see you  next Tuesday evening.

On The Road Again Album

With a nod to a favorite song from Willie Nelson, I have decided to call my newest project
ON THE ROAD AGAIN!
It is the perfect album for your summer vacations, honoring Dad with memories of his first car, capturing photos of learning to drive, "are we there yet?", race week-end, bringing baby home from the hospital, one tank trips, restoration of a classic, off-roading, honeymoons, moving .... all of those things that we associate with our love affairs with our cars and trucks....
Yes, you have the option of finishing the back of your album as a car....
 or a truck!
And, inside is LOADED with tons of interactive pages!  There is so much room in here that you will be totally surprised at how many photos and journaling spaces you will find!!
There are flaps, pockets and tags GALORE!
My book was finished in Americana paper, because it will be for "3 Chicks on A Trip" as two friends and I went to Washington, DC!  It was an amazing trip, and we have such fabulous memories to share... and some really funny pictures to put in our albums!

My next version will be all about a rental car trip across rural northern Argentina!

You will be able to get your tutorial, with the templates and cut all of the pieces yourself, and decorate the inside to suit the theme of your trip.
OR you can order the COVER KIT to complete your tutorial, and it will include everything to make your cover and binding, as well as the tutorial.  (You will still provide the paper for the inside pages, as I won't know what theme you want to present for your album.)

The tutorial and kit sale buttons will be up Tuesday evening!
This will be our USTREAM CLASS for TUESDAY June 12, 8:00 pm eastern time!
Just click on the blue icon in the upper right corner and it will take you to the UStream Channel.

See you in class!
Come make one for Dad!!!

EXploring PearlEX

For quite some time I have had a dozen bottles of Pearl EX in my stash,
so this week has been the time for EXploration!
What an EXciting product!  These are pure powdered pigments, easily used in stamping,
faux finishing, clay work, stenciling, embossing, and lots of other media.
The beautiful butterfly broach above is an altered soda can!
This Asian EXample began as plain purple paper. Sorry the lighting doesn't show the shimmer.
Drop by the class on Tuesday evening, and see it in person!
I do hope you will join me in EXploring Pearl EX, as well as other fun
tips in techniques in my BettyBee Designs UStream Classes.
Thanks for stopping by!

Corner Punch Flower Video and a Baby Card

Our friends, Krissy and Johnny welcomed a beautiful baby girl to the world yesterday!
Isn't this vintage image just beautiful?  I've added some tiny baby pin charms, lace, and then a sweet double heart corner punch flower with Stickles to finish it off.

Last night's UStream class was all about "goof-proof" Corner Punch Flowers made from any size papers and any corner punches!  Today I was able to get the YouTube video posted, and here it is for you!

I hope you will be making lots of Corner Punch Flowers, and tell me about them here, and post them on our FaceBook/BettyBee Designs page!  That's your place to share your creations!!!

Elegant Layered Flowers

OK, I have something else I want to share with Martha :o)  I am delighted to share a "Goof-Proof" way to make these gorgeous flowers with corner punches!  The fun part is it requires no measuring, no specific die cutting tools, and they come out "perfect" every time!  They are lovely in a vase, but great for cards, scrapbook pages, and especially 3D projects.  With Mother's Day next weekend, you will want to make whole bouquets of these beauties!   Come check out my UStream class on Tuesday evening at 8:00 eastern time!!  Bring a sheet of cardstock, your favorite corner punch, a pencil, scissors, and glue.... that's it!

If you can't see the class live, it is recorded so you can watch at your leisure.  I will also try to get a YouTube recording done in the next few days.

I have been busy crafting, and you will be seeing the results soon!

New and Revisited... Cards

This week's card class had three delightfully different techniques for the ladies to try out...
You saw the fun and cheerful layered sunflower card in my last post.

Here is the flashback project we revisited:

This Criss-Cross Card was created in kraft colored paper, and layered with celebration papers, and borders were punched with Martha Stewart edge punches.  Add a belly band, and it is a fun way to send special greetings anytime of the year!
This shows the tag removed from the inside of the card, ready for your message.  This card can also be done in a horizontal mode, like this one from a couple of years ago:

Here's the link on this style Criss-Cross Card.  Hope you like it!

Our next beautiful creation was done with the new Martha Stewart STAMP AROUND THE PAGE stamping set.  I will be doing a video very soon showing some of the tips and techniques I have come up with to help make this is a very easy to use set, with great results.  The ladies made fabulous cards!

This was made on cream cardstock with copper cardstock on top, which had been punched with a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page punch set to create the layered background.  The sentiment was a layered combination of Studio G and another small stamp that I had.  I will be sharing
these tips soon... (See the note at the bottom of the post.)

AND... Last, but certainly not least, here is a sample of the brightly colored creations made for
Little E's First Birthday Celebration!
There were lots of banners, posters, cupcake toppers, a big 1 tied with ribbons, and other goodies... check out BettyBee Designs FaceBook page in a day or two to see the whole array!

And the Birthday Princess came by the hospital to visit with her Papa... who,
unfortunately, couldn't go to her party :(
She brought her smiles to him.

That brings me to my NOTE for this week's UStream Class... due to Bob the Babe being in the hospital, I will not be holding class. See you next week...
Wishing you all the best.

Happy Birthday and Lettering tutorials

Since it is after midnight, it is officially my beautiful daughter's birthday, so I can take this opportunity to wish her a wonderful and happy birthday full of delight and surprises!  I made this card for her which is just her style!  The package should arrive this morning, with something really yummy in it!

Tonight's class on UStream was all about different kinds of lettering, from basic handwriting to calligraphy, and what types of instruments to use. Here are some of the samples we created:
This is a hand done monogram "B" with sketched shadows.
I want to give a big thanks to Shoo-Rayner for his great You-Tube videos for inspiring the next two designs.  This guy is a great instructor.

Wouldn't this cheerful block letter design make anyone feel better?!

Cheerful colors, and adding dots create lots of action in your message.
Bubble lettering, with highlights and shadows.  This was colored with watercolor pencils.
Freestyle, colorful, and plenty of action!
Practice adding swirls and serifs to your handwriting, as well as seasonal images,
and you will be able to create your own holiday cards.
Practice, practice, practice, and you will be a pro in no time!

I invite you to check out the recorded UStream class if you want to see how we did all of these, and other things.
