Happy Birthday to a Friend!

Good morning!  It's Birthday week at Whoopsi Daisy, and that is perfect, because it's also Happy Birthday to my HoneyBee friend, Judy!

For this card I used my new Wrap It Up Cricut Cartridge and found it to be OH, SO EASY to cut a shaped card, and then add all of the trim with the borders from the Martha Stewart Elegant Cakes Cricut Cartridge that hubby gave me for Mother's Day~
The little lady image is from Whoopsi Daisy, and she is colored with Copics, and the whole thing is accented with lots of Stickles!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JUDY!!!
See you all tomorrow with a new tutorial at BettyBee's Buzz!

Celebrate Spring!

Today's challenge at Whoopsi Daisy is all about using punches.
This little fellow is a Whoopsi Daisy image, and I have used four different punches
and two Nestabilities in the design.  Can you spot them?
He is colored with Copics, and the paper is from K&Co., and DCWV Calendar pages.
The stamped image is from my untitled stash... sorry.

Have you checked out BettyBee's Buzz for our Monday Motivational today?
We are all abuzz about having AMY SHEFFER as our guest HONEYBEE this week!!!
Here is the design she has created for our Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue Challenge!!!  Won't you come on over, learn some great things about Amy, and join in the challenge this week?!!!

A challengeing Challenge!

Today's challenge at Whoopsi Daisy is to create something with NO LAYERS!
Well, I love working with digital images, and one of the best features is printing them out in the size you want.  One great thing about Whoopsi Daisy images is getting the bargain of FOUR images on a sheet, SO when I printed out my super adorable firefighter, I needed to cut him away from the cute little girls that came on the sheet around him!
Therefore, I think I still qualify for "no layers" since I didn't add mats around the outside of the card, or under the image and the sentiment, don't you!?! Ha!
Here he is in close up.  I colored him with Copics, and added a little shadow with water color pencils.  The edges of both circles are inked to make them POP!  This paper is from the Imaginisce Birthday Bash collection.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up!

I have a little tid bit for you about the little red gems at the bottom... they are custom colored, just for this project!

First, start with Imaginisce white Metallic Glam Rocks, a sticky back note, and a permanent marker in the perfect color!

Stick the Glam Rocks to the sticky strip on the back of the note, so they stay put while you color them to match your project!  (Duh, why didn't I think of this sooner???!!!)

Attach with your battery operated I-Rock, and sit back and smile at your beautiful creation!!

One last look at our Happy Birthday card!  This little fellow can handle a BUNCH of candles, and as the sentiment says... The more Candles, the BIGGER the Wish!

Do head over to Whoopsi Daisy and check out the rest of the Design Team's take on the No Layer Challenge, and see Linnie's darling images.  You can order them very easily, and enjoy coloring them for your next creations!

Happy crafting ~

Whoopsi Daisy Bunny Babe

I haven't done a Stair Step Card in quite a while, and this little lady seemed just perfect for such a design!
Isn't that the sweetest face? She is a Whoopsi Daisy image, and you can get her here.   I colored her with Copics, and the bunny in the background is from Cricut's Celebrate with Flourish Lite cartridge.  The paper is from DCWV Sweet Stack.
I hope you can hop right into your crafting area and craft something fun today!  I'll be back tomorrow with a couple of twine projects for BettyBee's Buzz!!

Happy crafting!

Lots of Cute

Today is "Let's Get Cute" day at the WhoopsiDaisy blog!  I think this little Ellie qualifies, don't you?  There are some new baby girls coming into my world, and this card could find it's way to a baby shower!

The yellow background was embossed with the Cuttlebug Polka Dot folder.
The plaid cardstock was punched with a deep cut Martha Stewart punch.
The pink cardstock was cut with a Colluzle circle cutter, to create the scallop.
The sentiment is a Stampin' Up! stamp.
The coloring was done with Copics,  and White Gel Pen.
Add white buttons with yellow embroidery floss, and white ribbon.

Linnie has a special over at Whoopie Daisy, where you get one page of images FREE when you buy one!  Check them out!
I'm also entering this into Cupcake Inspiration's pastel challenge this week!

It's Monday Motivational over at BettyBee's Buzz, and Rosemary has done a frame  tutorial.  I hope you will check it out, and become a follower.  You could be our Feb. Blog Honey winner!

Love Always ~

It's all about hearts at Whoopsi Daisy this week, and who can resist Linnie's darling little girls?
This week the Design Team has chosen to feature hearts, and I used the Wild Card Cricut Cartridge to cut out these hearts, as well as the grass and cat tails.  The circle and scallop circle were done with Nestabilities.  The kneeling little girl was colored with Copics, and added highlights and lettering were done with a white gel pen.
The pink pearls are from ZVA.
I hope you will check out the rest of the DT's work, too!
I'll see you again soon :o)

Fancy Frame and No DP Challenge

This week at Whoopsi Daisy, we are challenged to use no designer papers, so I decided to go fancy with this frame cut from the Sentimentals Cricut cartridge. To make it into a card, I fussy cut the white back piece by hand, since there is no blackout feature on this cartridge, (but it was easy to trace and cut) and attached it with a paper hinge. The sweet little girl image was colored with Copics. Add a few gems, and you've got a very impressive stand up card to showcase your 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 artwork!
In keeping with my New Year's goals, I am also entering this into a couple of other challenges. Perhaps you can join in, too! Our Creative Corner is having a "Hey, Chickadee" challenge, and this qualifies, because it features the little birds. Over at Cute Card Thursday, the challenge is to use up old stash, and I have used only scraps for this card! Maybe I'll try a couple more challenges another time. What is your favorite challenge blog? I hope you are doing the Monday Motivationals with us over at BettyBee's Buzz!! Tomorrow we will be featuring the very trendy Faux Embossing!
Until then ~

Happy New Year!

I hope you have had wonderful holidays with your family and friends! It has been a very busy and wonderful time here at the BettyBee household, with all of our kids and grandkids here... who could ask for more?
Now it's time to get back to some crafting! Today is the first challenge over at Whoopsi Daisy, and this week it's "Free and Easy"!

My choice of Linnie's digital images is this thoughtful looking young lady, which I colored with Copics, and sat her on a suitcase cut from the Heritage Cricut cartridge. The "dream" stamp is from My Pink Stamper. The flowers are Prima, and I'm sorry I can't identify the paper or ribbon. They were from swaps.

Please check in to BettyBee's Buzz tomorrow for our first Monday Motivational for the New Year when I will be doing a tutorial on Calendar ideas! Then on Wed. the HoneyBees will be showcasing their calendar ideas, too.

If you are in the general Sarasota, FL area and are interested in Cricut, Cuttlebug, or Copics classes - perhaps you got new toys for Christmas, or you would like to brush up on your skills, just email me at the address in the side bar for details on my classes! ALSO, I have a few spaces left for our Cricuteers in Paradise Swarm coming up the last weekend in January! It will sell out, so if you are interested, shoot me an email about that, too!! You don't want to miss "Rosie's Casino" on this one!!

Wishing you a very Happy, healthy, joyful, and creative New Year!
Hugs,
Betty

Whoopsi Daisy and EAD Designs

Welcome! It's wonderful Wednesday, and we've got a double Whammy! The card above is this week's WhoopsiDaisy Design Team entry, for the challenge of Ribbons and Bows. It's also featuring EAD Designs Stickerz for BettyBee's Buzz! EAD creates awesome vinyl wall decor and colored and black and white Stickerz. (For my LDS friends, she has a great assortment of Temple designs, as well as other pieces such as Pres. Hinkley's Be's!) Have you been to BettyBee's Buzz to check out the tutorial video by Court Lee, and the HoneyBee showcase yet? EAD is offering a generous $20 Gift Certificate for December Birthday Cards at BettyBee's Buzz!! Plus there is great Blog Candy there, too!!! Come on over!!

This fun birthday card features several STICKERZ that were colored with Sharpies. The butterfly was colored, and then adhered to heavy acrylic. After trimming, bend the wings and antennae into the desired postion and adhere with strong glue dots.

A gatefold card was just right for showcasing this large STICKERZ medallion. This time I colored the image with Sakura Souffle' pens. This gives a great dimensional opaque look to the precious cupcakes. (Note* Smooch Inks do not dry on these stickers, so I recommend other mediums) Sakura glitter pens added great shimmer to the sticker, and dried nicely. I cut the shape and frame from the Cricut Cake Basics cartridge, then embellished it with heat set gems and the I-Rock.

I'll be back soon! Hope your holidays are coming along wonderfully! ENJOY the Season!

O Holy Night

It's Christmas at WhoopsiDaisy blog, and I've chosen Linnie's precious images of the Angels and Baby Jesus for my card this week. I really wanted the simplicity of the starry sky for the background, and this K & Co. paper was just perfect. The golden paper at the bottom is a gorgeous shimmery gold from Marcos paper company, and it cuts like a dream, with this Martha Stewart punch. I just love WhoopsiDaisy's sweet faces, and her flowing, rich gowns, which are so much fun to color with Copics! I hope you will check them out!

And, from Monday's Post, the first ever WHOOPSI DAISY BLOG HOP, our winner is......
CLEAH!
Cleah, I have left you a message on your blog, but if you see this first, please send me a message with your email address, and I will send you the sheet of four Whoopsi Daisy images, which includes the one that is on my card! Congratulations! Thanks for being part of our blog hop!

Whoopsi Daisy's First Blog Hop!

Welcome to my stop along the WhoopsiDaisy blog hop trail, and you are almost finished!

We've decided to hold a blog hop to celebrate our return to weekly challenges!

You hopefully should have started the hop at Net's blog, so if you haven't have a virtual hop over there to begin.

There is a letter on each blog which forms a phrase common to all of us! Please make a note of each letter, creating the phrase. Your last stop will be the WhoospiDaisy blog. Please leave a comment there, but not the phrase! Linnie will pick a winner and they will then email her the phase and win their choice of 4 sheets of digis. There is also a drawing on each blog and the winner will receive the digi that the designer used! Mine is the fairy on the pumpkin with her glass slipper!

The letter you need to complete your phrase is "G"! Now, leave me a comment so you can be in my drawing (and I hope you'll enjoy your stay enough to become a follower here or at my other blog http://bettybeesbuzz.blogspot.com/) and then hop on to finish up at WhoopsiDaisy
and leave a comment with the correct phrase, and you might be the winner!

Whoopsie Daisy Challenge

I just love coloring with Copic Markers, and digital images are perfect for such fun! And being asked by Linnie of WhoopsiDaisy to be on her design team was truly a wonderful thing, because she does draw some precious faces, doesn't she?! Today is the October Challenge, and it's "Paper Piecing" ... sort of a new concept to me... simply because I hadn't done it with digital images much. I still did mine a bit differently than the rest of the Design Team... so I know you will want to pop right over and see their fantastic creations :-)

My little witch, one of the four images on Sheet #124, is layered up to three times! I am SO SORRY that my photo doesn't show it well.... my camera battery died, and I left the charger at the last crop I attended... BOO!!! So I didn't get the side view that I usually give you... Her hat is three layers on the very top and the brim. Her hair is two layers , and so is her cape. The stars are popped up a third layer on the cape. This makes a really awesome dimensional show piece!

The cat is a favorite cut from the Oct. 31st Cricut cartridge, and he's flocked with a great Sparkle and Soft by Sparkle N Sprinkle. His eyes are heat embossed with their Glow-In-The-Dark embossing powder, too!!

Be Inspired with Cuttlebug and Whoopsi Daisy!

It's Wednesday, and that means another fabulous challenge at Cuttlebug Challenge! Today we are being sponsored by the very talented Linnie at Whoopsi Daisy designs. Linnie draws these precious little children. Some are old fashioned little ladies (and gents!), and some are today's modern kids! I especially love the vintage looks, and their full skirts, which lend themselves beautifully to my style of Copic coloring :)

In this little card, our challenge was to add a bow and at least two buttons! Can you find them? I LOVE the Cricut cuts I used on this card! The front door is actually the Grandfather clock from the Heritage Cartridge, and I think the hanging lantern from Oct. 31st is just totally cool! The bat is a Cuttlebug Die cut and emboss piece. Cute, huh?!

As you might remember, I am now on the Whoopsi Daisy Design Team, too, so this is a double delight for me. I hope you will pop over to the Whoopsi Daisy challenge blog, and see what's happening there, as well as the Cuttlebug Challenge blog, to participate in our challenge this week. Linnie has the cute little Firefighter Freebie that I showed you yesterday, as well as a Buy One Get One Free special going on right now! Her images are great, because they come in sheets of four at a time. She is putting up new holiday images now! If you aren't into coloring, there are pre-colored images ready for you to print out, cut and paste!

Go forth and have fun!

Once there was a little boy ....

who grew up to be a very fine man. Today is his birthday, and I am very proud of him. He is my hero.

This week when Linnie at Whoopsi Daisy gave us this freebie digital image, I knew that it was just perfect for this card! Don't you just adore that precious face? And how cute for paper piecing, too!

It is colored with Copics, a silver metallic paint marker, liquid glass, water color pencils, and Close To My Heart inks. The stamped image is from Robyn, My Pink Stamper's Friend's and Family set. And the embossed candles are a favorite Cuttlebug folder.

Happy Birthday, Doug! May this be the best year so far!!! All my love, Mom.
I'll be back tomorrow with another Whoopsi Daisy image for our Cuttlebug Challenge!
Happy crafting ~
