Vinyl Tiles

One of my favorite mediums is vinyl.  I am having a VINYL PARTY on Tuesday, and we are making lots of tiles for gifts.  It is easy to create lots of customize-able goodies with vinyl and your die cutting machine.

Adjust the cutting depth so that you "Kiss Cut" the vinyl, cutting only the vinyl and not the backing paper, weed out the unwanted parts, then use transfer paper or masking tape to move your project from the backing paper to the project.  Easy!
Here are samples of the designs we are making.  You have seen the Wise Men Still Seek Him tile before :)

LOL  Blogger and I must have wanted you to know that I really like the black and pink one about laughing - it's a girl thing!  I have a couple more that we will be doing.  If you are in the area and want to join in, just send me an email, and I'll send you the specifics!  If not, I hope you will get some vinyl, a few tiles, and have fun :)

EXploring PearlEX

For quite some time I have had a dozen bottles of Pearl EX in my stash,
so this week has been the time for EXploration!
What an EXciting product!  These are pure powdered pigments, easily used in stamping,
faux finishing, clay work, stenciling, embossing, and lots of other media.
The beautiful butterfly broach above is an altered soda can!
This Asian EXample began as plain purple paper. Sorry the lighting doesn't show the shimmer.
Drop by the class on Tuesday evening, and see it in person!
I do hope you will join me in EXploring Pearl EX, as well as other fun
tips in techniques in my BettyBee Designs UStream Classes.
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy crafting ~

♥Daily Love Letters♥

Happy Valentine's Day!
I hope you are feeling loved today, if not by a sweetheart, by friends, family, nature, God, and a happy heart...

I want to share my Valentine project for my hubby, (which was also my vinyl UStream class for last week) called DAILY LOVE LETTERS
This is an altered composition book designed to be used by The Babe and I
every day, for messages back and forth just between us.

This particular book happened to have two chipboard covers stitched on, so we have a photo gallery page front and back!  This paper is from the Recollections All Seasons 180 page stack.
I stamped and put vinyl stickers throughout the book to decorate the pages, carrying the theme all the way from cover to cover.
This project works wonders with youth, too.... try sharing messages of love in written notes, because once shared on paper, they are also written on the heart.

Happy Day of LOVE to you!

PS... Don't forget that there isn't a UStream class tonight because it's Valentine's Day... (and I'm out of town this morning)  If you don't have a h♥t date tonight, I invite you to check out one of the recorded classes on my UStream channel, and I'll see you next Tuesday!

Altered Photographs

Good morning!  I knew you would love to share this delicious delight first thing this morning...
Could there be anything any sweeter?
This week at BettyBee's Buzz is all about Altered Photos, and this is my project.  I am still at the hospital with Bob the Babe, and didn't have much in the way of supplies, but am very happy with this little beauty.  It was VERY simple to do.  One B&W print + three Copics = a whole new look!
I discovered that Copics still blend wonderfully on photo paper, and are sheer enough to let the natural shadows show through.  It is still best to add different intensities of color to get the best results.
I hope you will join us for the HoneyBee Showcase
to see what the other members of the Design Team have created to inspire you!

Nursery Lamp Project Published!!!

I am excited to share my first officially published project with you. It was in the March issue of Ready, Set, Create E-Magazine!!! (and I couldn't post it for 30 days!) This was a special Altered Project issue, and it was loaded with super ideas...and I was so delighted to be asked to submit a piece! I also learned that it isn't easy to do something with just three photos and five steps...and the five steps aren't supposed to be paragraphs! LOL Well, you can see my three photos, and the five steps included cutting out the frame, name, boat, stars, and red trim. The white pieces are embossed. Then it's all put together, and VOILA'!! A great light for Porter's Nursery. Are you inspired to do something fun for someone you love? It's easy peasy....give it a try! I even saw pre-drilled glass blocks in the craft store the other day :o)
Happy Crafting!
