Twist that Twine!

It's Twine Week at BettyBee's Buzz, and I did two cards to play with it!

I am so thankful for my friend, Court's, video on how to do a spiral twist with twine, that she showed on Monday, on BettyBee's Buzz.  She showed how to cover a button, and it was so cool!  Here I have used the same technique on the sun, and it was really easy to do!  The little bunnies playing in the trees are from the Cricut "Give a Hoot" cartridge. I hand wrote the sentiment with my favorite Signo white pen.

This Tilda card is going out to a very special "Cupcake Designer" who is having a birthday next week!!! I can't tell you how old she will be, because it will make me feel too old!  (How is it possible that our kids get older than we are????)  I know she will see this before she gets it in the mail, but she won't know what is coming inside of it :) Happy Birthday, Tori! The embossing folder is from Sizzix, and the coloring is with Copics. The round sentiment is from Stampin' Up!.
I've entered this one into a couple of challenges...
JustMagnolia -  Embossing, Paper Piecing and Ribbon/Lace (I hope the twine will qualify)
        MagnoliaStampLovers - dies

On both of my cards I used gold flecked embroidery twine (or string) that comes on a short round tube.
I do hope you are having fun creating, and will leave a comment when you can!  Please pop over to BettyBee's Buzz, and check out the HoneyBee's creations, and if you can enter a twine project, you could be the winner of one of my very first new project kits!!  New and exciting info coming very soon!!!

Sweet Flowers for a Friend

Soft pastels, lots of layers and lace, and a smiling Tilda are the perfect card for any little girl, no matter what age we happen to be!
This one is graced with flowers made with a terrific new technique that I learned from my friend Kathy at Paper Phenomenon! It is done with a punch, or Cricut, a pencil, and a little glue! Be sure and get over to her blog and watch her video! I made carnations, but her version shows you how to make your own Prima style roses!!! Way to go, Kathy!!

Tilda is sitting on a new (old) Cuttlebug folder that I just got, from the Disney collection, called the Pearl Frame. It is really fun! How nice it would be with shiny paper to make a mirror, too.
All of the punches are Martha Stewart, and Tilda is colored with Copics, and a little bit of Stickles, with Sakura Sparkle in her eyes.

I hope you have enjoyed a beautiful long weekend. Today is Memorial Day her in the United States, and we take this day to honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our liberties and freedoms. My family has long honored those who serve, and I continue to thank those who stand in harms way today. Bless you all. May God bring you home safely, and bless us all with peace.

I'll see you again soon!!

Birthday Greetings

It's time for Tilda and I to wish Claire a very Happy Birthday! Lilacs are my very favorite flower, and she has a basket full of those fragrant blossoms to bring to our friend! Add a little bit of Stickles for sparkle to Tilda's dress and socks, and we're all set!

Happy Birthday!

Special Thanks

This little lady is headed off to help say Thanks to a special friend AND it's Copic Creation's 1 st Blogaversary! So, I am going to enter this in their Copic Challenge, for Favorite Technique. I would say it is Caucasion Skin and Blonde Hair. They have an amazing library of tutorials there, so be sure to check them out! Wouldn't you like to create a card like this one... Here's the recipe:

The base card is 4 1/4 x 11 and scored in half so it is folded at the top. The Fleur de lis paper at the top is from a Teresa Collins collection, and black card stock at the bottom. The red strip in the center is punched with the new Martha Stewart Iron Gate border punch. Add a black satin ribbon, and top with a small bow. The Tilda image was colored with Copic markers, then the tulips were glazed with a Sakura clear glaze pen, as were her eyes, and a few highlights in her hair. The oval was cut with Nestabilities, and then chalked. The red scalloped oval was also cut with Nestabilities, and both were popped up with dimensionals. I use Zip Dry Glue by Beacon whenever possible. The sentiment "Thanks" was cut from page 11 of my Wild Card Cricut cartridge.

That's about it! I hope you will give it a try. I'll be back tomorrow with a Wedding Card, all done with the Cuttlebug.

Edwin and Halloween

Here's my first Halloween card of the year! I love to play with things for the fall, and things that go bump in the night! These little vellum ghosts were cut from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge, which is one of my very favorites, though I doubt that I've made more than 3 dolls ever! It is loaded with extras like these pumpkins, ghosts, and tons of other goodies! The fence is a stamp, as is the witch, and I colored both with Copic markers.

Edwin is wishing Happy Birthday to my Son-in-Law, who also plays guitar and sings a great song or two!
I'll see you tomorrow for Be Inspired Wednesday at Cuttlebug Challenge!

Two More Tildas

I am having so much fun with Tilda images. Each one has such a personality, and comes together so uniquely...
Hello, little Ladybug! Thinking of you.... This sweet image reminds me of my daughter, Barbie, who always loved ladybugs :o) The edge punch is MS Scallop Dot Edge Punch. Cute, isn't it? I colored her with Copic Markers. Sorry I didn't take a photo of the markers this time. Leave me a comment if you need to know which ones I used. (I'm always happy if you leave comments anyway!)

This little sweetie is sitting upon the brand new, and oh, so hard-to-find MS All Around the Page Loop Punch set. I even cut down the green paper under the image so it would fit....there is a video on MarthaStewartCrafts on how to use these punches, which I found to be very helpful.

The message is an embossed stamp from a new Hero Arts set that I just used my Michael's 50% coupon for...And I have a very special friend that will be getting this card in the mail :o)
If you are interested in attending a Copics class, please leave me a comment, and I will contact you with the date/price/information. I am in the TampaBay area of Florida...sorry if you are too far away....this is a wonderful place to visit...come on down!!!
Check in tomorrow for another Fab Friday TV video...
See you soon, and

My first Tildas

I love coloring these images with Copic sketch markers!

I have just started coloring the darling Tilda images, and I was naturally drawn to this sweet little Bee outfit. I think you'd be surprised at how much she looks like I did! (OK, I'll post a picture!) I've also found out about why Tilda doesn't have a mouth...she is an angel, and angels don't speak with their mouths, they speak with their hearts... Isn't that sweet??? I know I must not have been an angel, because my Mom said I talked so much I must have been vaccinated with a phonograph needle! (If you don't get it, ask your grandmom!)

This one is Farmer Tilda, and she's taking a break, thinking of a special friend, and admiring the new Creative Memories paper flowers. So cute, and a great deal from your CM dealer!

The background is embossed with the new Cuttlebug Herringbone folder, and inked with Cat Eye Chalk. The sentiment is from StudioG.

I'll be back tomorrow with a fun new technique that we did at the swarm.

Are you and your family enjoying the 30 Days of Summer program at Cuttlebug Challenge??? Great fun, and you could win!
