Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #6

This card was definitely a work "in progress" today! The challenge was to use a Christmas folder, and a border punch. Okay....then I read SusieB's tutorial on using rubber stripping to emboss only around the edges. I didn't have the rubber, so I wondered if Fun Foam would work,,,,it does!!! Then I tried it with a stamped message in the center, and used MS new star border punch on the edges. After quite a while, the "AH, HA!!!" moment came, and I put scotch tape behind the holes, sprinkled on gold embossing powder, and VOILA!!! beautiful gold stars along the border! Add some sparkling jewels to the snowflakes, clear embossing powder to the lettering, a message inside, and it's finally finished. I certainly learned a lot today!! I hope you did, too.

That is gorgeous! I have only just got a cuttlebug and am still experimenting...I must investigate the idea of only embossing round the edge!

This is wonderful I saw it on the boards... I love it. That punch works so well with the folder. Thank you for participating. Love all your cards.

So pretty Betty! I saw this card on the mb and just loved it. Great idea about the embossing powder behind the stars. I used that punch too but have always backed it with cardstock which can get pretty heavy. Did the rubber gasket trick too but wish I'd known the foam would work. Would have saved me a trip to Lowe's. Thanks for sharing all of your great ideas.
