Wedding Affaire!

It's Wedding Week at Cuttlebug Challenge, and I have created one of the Invitations for today's post. We are working with the most wonderful paper collections.....Core'dination's Gemstone Onyx and Opal and Pink Tutu! As well as Teresa Collins Mr. & Mrs. Collection, with it's elegant Damasks, stripes, and roses.

I've chosen to make a tri-fold card, starting with 12 inch wide Core'dinations paper, and scoring it to fit the printed invitation in the center, which is 4 inches, then a 1/8 inch score, which would create a tiny "box" style fold so the inside butterfly won't be squashed!

Placing each front section into the Cuttlebug with the 5x7 Romance folder was a bit tricky. Place one section in the folder, with the other piece folded backward under the folder. With this much Core'dinations paper in your Cuttlebug, you will probably have to adjust your plate sandwich. I used a C Plate, and a chipboard shim to get the correct pressure. After embossing one section, I sanded the paper to let the design show, because when embossing the second section it tends to flatten it a little bit, and by sanding it before hand, it doesn't seem to be a problem. Repeat the embossing step by inserting the other "front" section into the folder, and folding the other one behind the folder, so it doesn't get messed up. Layer the sandwich and run through the Cuttlebug. Sand the raised image, and you are ready to construct the card.

Here you can see the embossing on the outside and the inside of the card "fronts".

Next I created the Belly Band with a strip of Mr. & Mrs. designer paper, scoring it on the sides to match the scores of the card, and gluing it under the damask medallion. The medallion is also cut from Mr. & Mrs. designer paper. The Butterfly is cut from the Cricut Give A Hoot cartridge, first in Pink Tutu Core'dinations, and then in Black Onyx. The little flowers are from Michael's wedding department, and the little roses are delightful ones I've found from WildOrchid! (You MUST check them out!) All of this is glued together with my favorite, Zip Dry, by Beacon.

I do hope you will drop over to Cuttlebug Challenge every day this week to see what the fabulous Design Team is creating! This will be taking wedding inspiration to the top!!!

Have a wonderful week!

Happy crafting ~
