This weekend is a very special one for our family, as we have the privilege of hearing inspiring messages from the leaders of our Church, so we have been richly fed spiritually.... and today, after Church, we went to my Mom's for a wonderful dinner with family and friends where we were richly fed in the tummy, too!
I wanted to take something yummy and delicious for dessert, so this pineapple upside down cake was just right....and the pecans in the centers became beautiful butterflies with the addition of Vellum Wings cut from the Serenade Cricut Cartridge. (Vellum doesn't absorb the butter like paper would.) I removed the bodies, then ran the wings through the Cuttlebug with the "Corners" 2x2 folder to add that pretty texture. The heads are tiny m&m's and the antennae are sprinkles! This was really easy to do :)
To finish it off, I colored the coconut "grass" with a few drops of food coloring, and nestled in the blue bird peeps, and added my favorite eggs ~ m&m almonds!
I am so very grateful to know that my Savior Lives, and that He has provided a living gospel for us today, as well. It is an anchor for me, and for my family each and every day. I pray that you and your family also had a wonderful Easter, however you desire to celebrate.
Happy crafting ~

Looks absolutely yummy! One of my co-workers made me pineapple upside cake on my last day of work, before I moved to Hawai'i to attend school. Sooo yummy at 10 in the morning! lol
