Thanks, 'cause you know I'm no computer genius!

This new Dustin Pike design was perfect for my Thank You for my friend at school who comes to my rescue whenever I goof up the Grade Quick system!
I colored the image with copics and bics, and did a quick inking around the edges. A little doodling on the computer generated message added the right color for me. And, you gotta love a banana with bling, so there are yellow Stickles on the computer!
Have a happy scrappy day, and I'm off to deal with the eighth graders this last Friday of the school year.... just 4 more days to go!!!

Be Inspired #33

It's time for another Cuttlebug Challenge, and this one is all about Monograms. I really enjoyed getting to put this one together. I used one of Elle Studios chic journaling tag elements and Heidi Grace rub-on letters to create the Monogram for my nephew's wedding card. Bret and Stacy are getting married in a couple of weeks, and their invitation was a formal black and white, so this should go nicely with their colors. This card is multi layered, with the tag being backed with a ridged black cardstock, and that is attached with dimensional dots. The white satin ribbon and bow sit atop a gold and white layer done with the Textile Cuttlebug Folder, Versamark Ink pad, and Gold Embossing Powder, and that is backed with another layer of the rich, ridged black cardstock. The computer generated message is printed on white vellum and attached inside. I must admit that this is one of those cards that really is much prettier in person. I wish you could all be here to see it :)

I am looking forward to seeing almost all of our family together to celebrate this marriage. Blessings to Bret and Stacy for a long and happy life together.

For your New Baby Girl!

I was really thinking pink on this one! I wanted to show off another of the new Sizzix embossing folders, and this darling baby carriage just filled the bill for a precious baby card. After I ran it through to emboss the shape, I decided to cut it out, and did a little inking and added the doodle dots for fun. With some pink papers, and a soft ribbon, we can welcome the sweetest little girl.

I hope your weekend was so much fun... We had two fun picnics yesterday, and even went "off-roading" in Doug's Jeep. He and Claire had a very adventurous ride - into the RIVER!!! Thank goodness that Jeep is a real mud crawler with a good winch, and pulled itself right on out of there, but Claire was wondering if she'd ever be the same!!! Lots of fun, and it was so good to be with good friends, and with family. I hope you had a good Memorial Day, if you are here in the USA, and a great, fun weekend, no matter where you are!
Happy scrapping!

Happy Memorial Day

Before the picnics and parades, I wanted to post a little card I made with some of my forefathers in mind. My husband is a 24 year veteran, and my son is also a vet, so I appreciate the moments that we take to honor those who serve our Nation. However, Memorial Day is especially for those who gave ALL, and I remember going from cemetery to cemetery with my Grandmother placing flowers on the graves of her brothers, and other family members. My Dad is now gone, and he, too served. God bless them all. And to those who serve today... my nephew in Iraq, my niece and nephew who are training to go, and to all of your loved ones, God bless you all, and may He bring you all home safely. We know that Freedom Isn't Free.

The card is made from clip art, copic and bic markers, bling given to me by a friend, and paper from my stash.

Happy Memorial Day, and enjoy your long weekend!

Tigger Welcomes Baby Shawn

This card is for one of my students who has a new baby brother. I used the Disney Pooh Cartridge (thanks Marcia!) for Tigger, cut at three inches, and the baby feet are a $1 punch from Michael's. The crib is created from strips of cardstock that I sanded and inked. I love the background paper, which is from the Debbie Mumm Nursery Rhyme Glitter pack from JoAnn's....so cute! For the lettering, I made my own rub-on by printing my message in reverse on acetate, and setting the ink to heavy and slow dry settings. Then I used an embossing pen to go over it, and heat embossed it with cobalt blue embossing powder to give it a very shiny look.
Very sweet, and so is Lauren!
Happy crafting today! Leave me a comment, and let me know what you are working on.....
Studio Bee is really coming along....I hope this weekend will be the grand unveiling!!!

Many thanks to my friend, Wanda, for the darling Blinkies today! I went to add them to my files, and, as usual, had a bit of trouble, and went to try one here. To my surprise there were FIFTY darling little bears eating chocolate!! The message was so good that I decided that we all needed this message tonight!
Just to let you know that DS Doug came over last night, even with a sick wife at home, and helped move furniture all around, so that Studio Bee is getting closer to coming to life! Things are starting to hum in there !!!
Last, but not least, Happy Birthday, to my Sister Claire!!! Wahoo! We're going Copic marker shopping on Saturday!!!
Okay, everyone....happy scrapping! Gotta buzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...........................

Greetings! I am NOT lost!

Hi! I have not been abducted by aliens, or whisked away to a tropical island, or anything quite so exotic...I have been moving my craft space next door, and also prepared for a very special get together of a new group of ladies called the Sarasota Scissor Sisters!!! Such fun...but my space for creating has been under construction, so I haven't had anything to post for you....sorry ...but I hope it will be worth it in the long run... You know New York has their Studio 1A, well, get ready for the introduction of "Studio Bee" coming soon!!!

In the meantime, here is a wedding card (inspsired by Dawn at LimeScraparita) I made with the Scissor Sisters on Saturday with the new Sizzix wedding embossing folders. Aren't they just gorgeous?!?!?!? So elegant!! There are four small folders to go with the A2 size. They also have a new Baby set...so keep watching!

OK, I'd better get back to the construction zone, and keep bizzzzzzzy, or it'll be another week before I get anything posted, and that's not good....I have some fun things in store for you!

Take care, and happy crafting!

Nursery Lamp Project Published!!!

I am excited to share my first officially published project with you. It was in the March issue of Ready, Set, Create E-Magazine!!! (and I couldn't post it for 30 days!) This was a special Altered Project issue, and it was loaded with super ideas...and I was so delighted to be asked to submit a piece! I also learned that it isn't easy to do something with just three photos and five steps...and the five steps aren't supposed to be paragraphs! LOL Well, you can see my three photos, and the five steps included cutting out the frame, name, boat, stars, and red trim. The white pieces are embossed. Then it's all put together, and VOILA'!! A great light for Porter's Nursery. Are you inspired to do something fun for someone you love? It's easy peasy....give it a try! I even saw pre-drilled glass blocks in the craft store the other day :o)
Happy Crafting!

Cuttlebug Spa Weekend: Relax, Rejuvenate, Be Inspired

Roses are Red, but VIOLETS are Blue
and with this BLOG HOP the winners are YOU!!

African Violets are said to be the one plant that people desire most to have in their homes because it makes them feel happy. I love them, especially because they remind me of a very special Aunt who had a great knack for growing them. Her windows were always filled with beautiful purple blossoms. Any time I see them, I get that happy feeling in my heart.

How do you relax? My favorite relaxation spot is my lanai, which in Florida is a sun filled room, with windows on three sides, and mine has African Violets, and is decorated with a Bee Theme :) (Are you surprised?) I am surrounded with treasured items like a quilt, wall hanging, figurines, windchimes, wreath, and other gifts, all from dear friends, andall with bees on them (of course! )This is my warm and sunny spot to read, which is my favorite type of relaxation. I have a rocking chair, so my big cat, Rusty, and I can cuddle up and read a good mystery. Oh, and don't forget the chocolates!!

My word for the blog hop is "Violets" ; and after you check out my card, sign up as a follower or a subscriber, and leave me a comment, (so you are eligible for my awesome BLOG CANDY CONTEST***!!!, plus all the other great contests on CBC), you head on over to see what Karen Maldonado has to share, and get the next clue in the BLOG HOP! When you get all of the flowers, go to CBcontest@gmail.com and you will be entered into the drawing for those magnificent prizes that you saw on CUTTLEBUG CHALLENGE BLOGSPOT!!!

A Little Oops ...

I was making a darling little card to share with you for today, and something happened just as I was getting ready to put the last finishing touches on it.....

Here's most of it....don't you just love this sweet little bear? I colored her with Bic and Sharpie markers, and used a Copic Blender pen to add highlights! What a fun technique ;) However......
Dropping a brand new Versafine onyx black stamp pad, is NOT such a fun technique...
That thing even bounced! Oh, well....back to the drawing board...but not tonight...it's way past my bed time, and it's an early morning tomorrow, so we can start the Spa Retreat weekend...I think I need it ;) Oh well, we all know that into every crafters life, a little ink must fall! LOL
Have a happy crafting weekend, and I'll be buzzing back soon with another project. I hope you will, too.
