Fab Friday - No Video but New Goodies!

It is my delight to show four of the brand new folders being introduced
by Provo Craft this week! They were on my doorstep when I came home from
teaching school yesterday, and I could hardly wait to make something to show you with them!

This is the new Flourishes Folder! I embossed the front of a white A2 card, then coated the raised images with Crystal Stickles. When dry, I stamped Merry Christmas with Red Velvet CTMH ink, and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Easy!

House Mouse Holiday!!

The new Tartan 5x7 folder is great!
This red section is cut smaller and accented with Ice Stickles. The mouse and tree were colored with Copics and touched with Shimmerz. So fun!

Paper Piecing with Cuttlebug!
This is the Cardinal folder, and I did the blue section first, then embossed scraps of brown, green and red for the different sections of the image. It was very easy to cut them out along the embossed edges. I used Zip Dry glue to adhere them. I used Sakura Souffle' white for the snow flakes, and that really makes the POP! Then a touch of Crystal Stickles really makes them sparkle. The snow us Martha Stewart Glitter Snow. Sorry I goofed on coloring the Cardinal...the part in back of the beak should have been black, and the top knot should have stayed red...(don't color at 3:00 in the morning!!) Glue on a black mat, add red brads to the corner, and trim the image to fit! Great project!!

Silent Night!!
If you've been following my videos and blog, you know I love shiny paper, and have a technique for adhering inexpensive wrapping paper to cardstock, and making it really upscale! This is really IT!!! I used the new 5x7 Snowflake Folder, then sprayed it with Glimmer Mist, and dabbed the top layer off with a tissue, leaving it in the crevices. So pretty! Then with the Border Folder I did a 7" edge design, and inked the edge with Copic BG000. The snowflake is a Cuttlebug Die Cut, attached with a pop-dot, and the bow is the finishing touch.

I hope you have enjoyed these, and would love to win one! I will be giving away the SNOWFLAKE FOLDER on MONDAY, and here's how you can win it! Be sure to leave me a comment, then click here to take you to Cuttlebug Challenge, and follow the three simple steps there....it's that easy!!! Good luck. NOW, if you want to purchase all SIX of these gorgeous, limited folders, get over to HSN (Home Shopping Network) NOW! They have them online already, and will be doing a big debut program on Monday, Nov. 2nd! They are expected to sell out, so don't wait, or you will miss out!

Cuttlebug Challenge #55

We have a new sponsor this week at Cuttlebug Challenge, and I have to admit that this was just a bit of a stretch for some of us. I've seen My Favorite Things stamps for quite a while, and am quite a fan of a lot of them, but this one was a challenge for me. It is called On The Pier, and somehow it just seemed to be the wrong time of the year for me. The reason they choose to leave the heads off of their designs, is because they like them to be "any woman"...

Here I chose the Ornamental Iron Cuttlebug Folder to create the Wallpaper on Core'dinations paper. The soft yellow with the lighter yellow worked really well. I added acrylic for the window, and used a white Sakura Souffle' pen to draw in the window panes. It is great, because when it dries, it sort of puffs up, and gives a great, bright white look. The curtains were made from shiny copper ribbon, and attached with glue dots. The sentiment at the bottom was computer generated, and reads "The road to a friend's house is never long." I cut it with a tag Coluzzle, just turning it around to give the decorative end on both ends. The gem leaves are from JoAnn's.
My image is colored with Copics, water color pencil for the boardwalk, and watercolor crayon for the sky. The leaves are all punched with a small punch from my stash.
Please pop over to Cuttlebug Challenges to check out what the other Designers have created, and to be sure to watch for the creations presented this week, when the five designers get the brand new Cuttlebug Folders! I am so LUCKY! I am one of the five, and am stalking the mailman! I have already colored images, just getting ready for when the folders arrive! I am so excited!!
Happy crafting~ and I'll see you soon!!

TIC TAC TOE

For a fun game night at church, we got $1 metal gift card boxes, sanded the tops, and painted them black. It took two coats, and then a quick spray of sealer.

The Cricut was set with the adjustments set at 3/4 inch for the pumpkins and cats, and then we adjusted the pressure to LOW and cut 3/4 inch vinyl squares to create the playing board, which was adhered to the top of the metal boxes.

Here are the cats and pumpkins with faces drawn on with micron pens and Sakura Souffle' pens.

Each had a small piece of adhesive backed magnet on the back so it could be played on the front of the game box.

Naturally, IT'S A CAT'S GAME!! Bwahahahahahahahaha!!!

The blank space is fun for writing the owner's name, or staging the pieces while you wait .

I plan to do these for Christmas, too....won't they be darling Stocking Stuffers?

Enjoy, and Happy Crafting ~

Be Inspired #54

Today's Challenge at Cuttlebug Challenge is to scraplift the work of one of the Design Team! How fun will that be!! Here is my Halloween 8 x 10 of my two furbabies, Rusty and Dusty.

The background is Core'dinations Black Magic (Bwahahahaha!!!) embossed with Cuttlebug Spider Web... It was too big to go into the Cuttlebug, so I used a rolling pin to get the pressure to do the embossing. The next layer of paper is Basic Grey's Halloween cardstock, and the Spooky card, and cool Owl are from Tattered Angels, who also make the Bronze Glimmer Mist that gives it that subtle shimmer.

The coloring was done with Copics, Sakura Souffle and Glaze pens to give the owl and pumpkin eyes a creepy glow. The paint under the sentiment is pearl paper paint, and the stamp is from StudioG.

The photo of the cats was taken when they were sitting on the roof, and every time I wanted to take their picture they looked at me, and the flash reflected in their eyes....SPOOKY!!!

OK, it's your turn! Hop over to Cuttlebug Challenge, and check out the rest of the Spook-tacular Design Team, and scraplift someone's work, make it your own, and get creative!

Batty Cat and a New Baby

I feel like I've been neglecting you lately, and I'm really sorry! If you've missed me, just check over at Cuttlebug Challenge or Cutting Above, and you're likely to find me there, taking care of a thing or two.

Here are a couple of new pieces I'd like to share :-)
I have two dear friends who have welcomed new baby daughters into this world, and I made one this card with Sizzix embossing folders. I love pink and green together, and the sweet pea just seems to say it all! I inked the Bundle of Joy folder before putting white paper into it, and that's how this technique works. It's easy and a great look.

One more Halloween greeting, and this is one of my very favorite images from Mo's Digital Pencil, too. It is the Batty Cat, and I think it is just so sweet! I colored her with Copics, and layered Designer Paper onto Cuttlebugged cardstock, and then used Martha Stewart's Dotty Scalloped edge punch for the black paper. The ribbon is from Michael's. It think it's one that's definitely too cute to spook!

I'll be back tomorrow with a new Challenge....until then...

World Card Challenge

Happy World Card Making Day! I hope you are crafting, blog hopping and having fun!!
This is my family ~ well, my grandkids and their Dad! I used Little Rascals, Funky Fairies, DZ Doodles, and Annie Lang digital images, inserted to a Word document and sized to proper proportion. The Haunted House is a Cuttlebug Folder embossed onto Core'dination Black Magic paper, which I "debossed" so I could cut out the shape and sand the raised shutters, windows, and other accents. The grass shapes were cut pieces of green paper, which I embossed with the Spider Web Cuttlebug folder.

The popped-up kids were all colored with Copic markers, and accented with some bling. The moon is a sticky paper embellishment with added MS gold glitter.
The funny sentiment inside says "DAD, do you ALWAYS have to go Trick or Treating with us??"
I hope you create something fun today!
Happy crafting ~

Fab Friday TV Criss Cross Card Tutorial

Isn't this the sweetest image? It's from a Stampin' Up stamp that I recently got, and I think she is the cutest little witch I've ever seen! The card is a CrissCross card, and is the sample that I made for this week's Fab Friday TV tutorial video that I did for Cuttlebug Challenge Blog. It is posted over there, and I will post it here, but it takes hours to upload on Blogger, so I wanted to let you know that it is coming! The video also shows how to use Sizzix Embossing Plates in the Cuttlebug :o) I hope you will enjoy it. This was in response to questions asked by viewers. I would appreciate any questions, requests, or suggestions for video topics that you would like to see. Please leave comments here, and I will do my best to get them done in the near future! Thanks!!!

Happy Crafting~
