Happy Anniversary and Cuttlebug Challenge #12

This was our 35th Anniversary, and this is the card I made for my sweetheart :-) The gemstone for 35 is Emerald, so I used plenty of glittering jewels on the card. They were originally "diamonds" but with a green Sharpie, they easily became "emeralds"!!
The Cuttlebug Challenge this week was to Sand the Embossed Image, so I used the Bird and Floral design, and lightly sanded the top with an emery board, so that the white core of the paper shows through. The tree image is from Imaginesce, and the Happy Anniversary is cut at 2" with the Calligraphy Cartridge. The ribbon and jewels are from M's and the paper from Sam's. The inking was done with the MS stacked colors that I got for Christmas...thanks Mom! A litte accent work with a copper gel pen by Sakura, and it is finished. Thanks for checking it out!

Family Tree

This is the Family Tree that I etched for Bob for our 35th Anniversary, which was today! I cut the tree out of vinyl, from Stretch Your Imagination, and the lettering from Plantin Schoolbook. I adhered the stencils to the glass, and used etching cream to etch the design onto the glass. The 35th Anniversary is celebrated with Emeralds....wouldn't you know it, not one person in our family has emerald as the birthstone!!! (*all birthdates, etc. have been blurred, just so some creepy person who might find this can't get data to use...just to be on the safe side.) It really is prettier in person, as taking a photo of a clear piece of glass is really hard to do...everything was reflecting into it! There's plenty of room for growth as new additions come along.

He surprised me with GORGEOUS emeralds! A pendant, surrounded with smaller diamonds, then matching earrings, and finally a ring, too!!! WaHooo!!!
I will post his card on Wed. morning, as it is also the Cuttlebug Challenge for this week. :-)

Our Christmas Surprise!!

Here is OUR Christmas surprise!! On Dec. 20th, Tori, Spencer, and these grandkids surprised us for the holidays! WOW!! We sure did have fun! Tori sang in our Sunday Service, which she had arranged with our Choir Director, and it was a fabulous surprise to all who remember her. She has a beautiful soprano voice. It is such a treat for us to hear her sing.
Aunt Judy made their pj's for Christmas this year! Aren't they the cutest??!!

We attended a live Nativity, and Dylan is petting the camel and the donkey.

Did you ever make a face you just wish you hadn't? ((You can see the corners of her mouth beginning to turn up!)) This means "I have too many brothers right this minute!!"

We went to the shooting range the day after Christmas. Bryan is shooting Great Grandaddy's .22 pistol.

Traditional toasting marshmallows on Christmas Eve.

Gingerbread houses were tons of fun!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, or Hanukkah, or whatever holiday you might celebrate. Our family was quite blessed. They left yesterday and we are really missing them. Make life's moments special, and they become memories to treasure for a lifetime. (I'm feeling philosophical today!)

Cuttlebug Challenge #11

Our challenge this week is to make a criss-cross card. I chose to make a criss-cross card box, and fill it with note cards. I used a pattern from Linda Davis' Christmas Freebies design studio cut files for the box, and the note cards are 3x4 inches.
I've used the:
.Thank You set for the flowers, just because, and thank you embossing messages, and Swiss Dots on the box inside and wrap.
.The paper is from Sonshine and Memory Makers.
.Ribbon is from Target.
.Stamps are from StudioG.
.Rickrack is from stash.

Cuttlebug Challenge #10

This week's Cuttlebug Challenge was to do a Christmas project, but not a card, and right away I knew that I wanted to try Jen del Muro's Mini Pizza Box tutorial from Lynn over at Splitcoaststampers!! It was so wonderfully easy to make!!! My cuttlebug folder is my old favorite, Swiss Dots, which sits on a framework of gold. The gold is a very frugal little trick. Get gold wrapping paper, run a piece of card stock through your Xyron to make it have an all over adhesive backing, and stick on the gold wrapping paper - even mylar!! Voila! You have gorgeous metallic paper for pennies!! ...I digress... The square on top is featuring my new Fiskars lacy border punch. The poinsettias on the corners are from M's, as are the grosgrain and satin red ribbons. The wreath is made from the MS branch punch, and has lots of gold and red stickles dots for decorations. Inside you'll find a sentiment from a Stampendous stamp, and candycane Hershey Kisses...yummy!!! This 4 inch treat box could hold coasters, magnets, a cookie, jewelry, photos, note cards, or lots of other gift ideas. What would you put in a mini pizza box????

A couple more Cards for Christmas

I couldn't resist a few more cards for Christmas! The Santa image was a vintage download from Microsoft images. I just copied it to my Word program, printed it out, and colored it in with markers and water color pencils. His glasses are touched with liquid glass, which makes them glisten. I stamped right on the green gingham paper, and think the next one will be different...a bit hard to read. I still love the traditional colors. The ribbon is red velvet with gold glittered dots, so the stickles make the perfect compliment around the green scalloped oval.
The reindeer are an OLD cheap sponge stamp that I had in my stash...and I was showing children how to make cards. I thought they turned out pretty cute, with Rudolph in the middle. The kids made really great cards, and I will be posting those soon!

Happy Birthday

Fun and fast was this one! It features the Fiskars lace punch, acrylic flowers, and Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing. The ribbon is pre-adhesived, and was a RAK from AnnMarie!!

Graduation Cards for two sisters getting their Doctorates!!

Imagine how proud these parents are!!! Two daughters graduating on the SAME day with their PhD.'s!! One in Education and one in Psychology... Awesome!!!

These are stair step cards, and the back section is acrylic, with graduation caps made in design studio, looking like they were thrown up in the air! Some even have gold tassles.

I used George; Beyond Birthdays; Calligraphy; Tags, Bags, Boxes and More; and Design Studio for this one.

Cuttlebug Challenge #9

This was my challenge week, and our challenge was to create our own cuttlebug folders. I used Design Studio, and the George cartridge to create the simple Nativity. I cut my design on chipboard, and adhered it to the acrylic folder. My paper was Pearl Vellum. My swirls were cut with my new Calligraphy cartridge. I pierced the sky and on the vellum. The sentiment and the star are from the same StudioG $1 wooden stamp, that I removed from the wood and cut apart. I will post the cut file for the nativity, if you leave a message requesting it.
Click on the Cuttlebug Challenge Blinkie to check out what the other designers have done!!
Merry Christmas!!
