O Christmas Tree

This is my entry into Cuttlebug Challenge #5 ~ Embossing on metallic paper. This is the Christmas Tree design, DE-bossed (done upside down) for a different look, and accented with tiny red jewels. The paper is aluminum foil adhered to cardstock with Xyron.

Cuttlebug Challenge Camp

This is my card for Kim's Gift Card holder challenge. It is A2 size, and I went for the masculine approach. I really like this Cuttlebug folder for "leather alligator hide" or something like that! This is silver card stock, and the brads are copper, so it has a very metallic feel to it. The white insert is inked in silver, and the Happy Birthday message is heat embossed with silver, too.

Cuttlebug Camp Challenges!!

It's Wednesday, and time to post the rest of the Cuttlebug Camp Challenges that I've finished. What a fun program this has been! Thanks to Trudi and the other designers for great tutorials and motivation to get some neat things done. Here are my napkin rings for Tablescape Part 2!
I used Swiss Dots, and Fiskars edge punch for the main part, then Cricut Stretch Your Imagination for the Leaves. They look really pretty with my basket from Day 1!

This little guy is my funny little snowman from "Pumpkins, Part 3"! I did the circles, glues them together, and then dressed them in snowy style! I do think the ovals would have worked better for the bottom section! The snowflake cuttlebug folder worked really well for this! Don't you love the goofy smile!

These tags are fun and easy! They are 2"x 2 1/2" and decorate up so cute! I love putting the cut out image on the inside! Thanks for the ideas :-)

This is my version of Kim's Tutorial Challenge on the Beaded Embossing. I tried everywhere in my area to find Sticky Powder, and haven't had any luck, so I hand glued mine in the reverse. I still love the results! I used one of the corner plates for this design, and backed it with silver paper, and there are "diamonds" in the centers of the flowers....great compliments to each other. Thanks, Kim, for the tutorial, and when I get the Sticky Powder, I will do it in the reverse. (I tried "inking" my cuttlebug folder with the glue pad, and it didn't work).

Cuttlebug Camp Challenge #2

This handled box was a great project, which I made some modifications to. I don't have nestabilities, so I made mine with one sheet of 12x12 paper, cut to 6x12, scored at 4" panels, and the 4th side was cut at 4 1/2". The 1/4 inch sides were scored. A 1/2 inch bottom was scored on all 4 panels. All 4" panels were embossed with the Swirls and Birds folder. Then I used Tacky Strip to attach the 4th side to create the box. Snip the score lines, and fold up the bottom edge, add tacky strip and attach a 4" square to the bottom to complete the box. Easy!! Next I added a 12" handle with tiny brads, and accented with fall ribbon and a leather button. I learned a few tricks along the way....1) it is easier to color the embossed design BEFORE you tape it together (learned the hard way!) 2) thanks to Barb Rose for telling me about using my Xyron to adhere aluminum foil to cardstock to create mirror paper!!! That's how I did the bird and limb decor on the side of the basket, and colored it with alcohol inks. The front panel is a CTMH stamp. All edges are inked in MS brown. It was fun! check out the Cuttlebug Challenge, and give it a try!!

Cuttlebug Camp Challenge #1

These pumpkins were great fun for autumn tablescapes! I did them in two different styles. One was by inking the Bubbles cuttlebug folder before I embossed the paper, which gave it the awesome two toned look. The second one alternated Swiss Dot panels with plain ones, so the patterend paper was more noticeable. I don't have a crimper, so I hand pleated the leaves, giving each a unique look. My pumpkins have a grosgrain ribbon stem through the center. I learned a great trick with the challenge ~ to use a brad to hold it closed at the bottom!
Well, I couldn't leave it with the Fall.....Christmas is coming, and what a pretty ornament the same style makes! I embossed with the D'vine Swirls folder, then used MS gold glitter to accent the swirls, and red Stickles to give the dots. Top it off with a gold and red bow, and Voila! Easy and fun!!

Tom Turkey

Happy Thanksgiving! This little fellow is a paper pieced design made from scallops from Accent Essentials #31, (3", 2 1/2", 2") then the penguin from Christmas Cheer, with a couple of modifications, and the hat from the Pilgrim boy in Paper Dolls. Cut off three "bumps" of each scallop circle to make the tail feathers, then pinch fold them to make the dimensions. A little stitching around the edges makes it just right. Fix up our little fellow with water color pencils and micron pens. Put him together with pop dots. The punched strip is done with a Fiskars leaf border punch, and the Happy Thanksgiving is from a new Studio G stamp. I hope you are able to make one of these little fellows for yourself. Happy Thanksgiving!

Introducing Flower Soft

This is the new Flower Soft product that Bethany brought to us at the Orlando Swarm! It is three dimensional, and adds a wonderful look to floral designs. It comes in 18 different colors, including this wildflower mix. Isn't it pretty! So easy to use, too :-) Thanks for sharing, Bethany! Now if I could only find it in a local store, instead of having to order it online!) Oh, well......Mayabe Santa will bring me some :-)

Mr. Frankie has a friend!

Thanks, Dawn, for showing us a new design for the "Frankie-N-Stein" card! Isn't this guy the cutest! I will be showing how to make these cards at our community center on Thursday evening. Love the stickles accenting the holly leaves and berries. Got a name for him????

Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #4

The Cuttlebug Spot Challenge this week is to use two different designs on the same card. I think this is a great combination! Both are jazzed up with some stickles for bling, and add gold glitter, and it's a winner!

Another Spinner card

Friends DO warm the heart! I was talking to my friend, Roe today, and we worked on the cut for making spinner cards, and this is what I did with mine. I have done a video of how it works, and I am trying to figure out how to post it...short, but sweet. Wish me luck! I hope you enjoy spinners. They are really lots of fun, and have tons of potential.

Bodacious Ta-Ta's!!

Just a reminder to all of my girlfriends, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! Remember to get your mammograms, and take care of those ta-ta's!
This card is being posted on http://www.haveyourwaywithpaper.com/, where they are having a Bra card challenge, and they sent the pattern. Check them out for some very creative designs!!!!

Fat Kitty

I just love this kitty stamp, and made this fun birthday card! Just a reminder to click over to BettyBee Designs to check out the cards that I'm posting over there. I'm in the process of transferring all of the cards that I've posted in the past from here, too, so you might be seeing reruns....just click on the subject tabs on the right hand side, and that will bring up all cards in that category. Hope that helps! I will be posting new Thanksgiving and Fall cards in a couple of days!

Happy Halloween!

This little Candy Corn Family is such a fun craft project. Shhh, don't tell Debbie! This is my altered item for her Swap, and I just couldn't wait to show it to a couple of special people. My sweetie cut them out in the work shop, and I painted and dressed them. I made three sets. I had made these years ago, but didn't have mine any more, so I thought it was a good time to bring them back. They have added a child, and upgraded their eyes and outfits, too! Fun!

Happy Birthday, Ron!!

Happy Birthday, White Hat Ron! Yesterday was Ron's surprise birthday party, and this was the only picture I got! You can imagine the comments!! It was a great western theme, and this shot in front of the longhorn steer head was priceless! (You add your own caption!!) We had a wonderful time. He was ALMOST surprised...you just can't fool a law man with a parking lot full of familiar cars :0) Check out the card that I did for him with the horse and donkey from the paper dolls cartridge. We even sang a song to White Hat Ron!

Cards for the Troops

I have a special request! My sister, Joni, works with the Charlotte Correctional Department in Florida (I know I've bashed their official name - sorry), and they have 93 Correctional Department employees currently serving in Iraq and Afghanastan. She is collecting things to put in care packages for them for the holidays. I have recently learned through our Cricut message board that they can't get greeting cards! I am making cards to put in these care packages, and I need your help!! They need cards to send BACK to their families for Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. They can be hand made, or store purchased. Don't sign them. (Of, course, it would be appropriate for you to include a card of appreciation for their service, and for Christmas, that you do sign, too!) These need to be in Joni's hands by the 22nd of October!! You get them to me, and I'll get them to her! I know this is short notice, but I'll bet we can do it! I will be planning a card making session at my house and YOU ARE INVITED!!!! Keep watching for the specific information...coming SOON! Thanks, and God bless you, and our Troops.

New Cards on BettyBee Designs!

I am posting several new cards on the other blog today! Be sure to click over to see what's new!

Here She Is!

I've been telling many of you about this adorable cat, that Phyllis made for us, as a treat in our goodie bags for the swarm!!! Isn't this just the Cat's Meow?!? I know a picture is worth a thousand words, and I've devoted WAY more that in telling how cute this is, and describing it over the phone! LOL It's amazing what one can do with a piece of paper, a snack bag, and a staple.....together with a load of talent! Thanks again, Phyllis.

Spinner Card

This fun little card features a little ghostie that twirls across the front of the card when it is tipped back and forth! OOooooOOooooo. This was the prototype that I worked on at the swarm, and I want to thank Margaret and Carol for the help with the cut file! My friend, Rabeccah got this card before it even got home with me :-) I will make more!!!!

Treats for Swarm Sisters

We have goodie bags at the swarms where we make little treats for one another, and these are one of the treats that I shared with my Swarm Sisters. These cuts are from Papers Dolls, and are attached to Pixie Stix with Pop-Dots! I hope this idea will come in handy for you :-)

Love Birds

These two Turtle Doves are made from the Joys of the Season Cartridge, and placed on handmade paper. The Doodlebug flowers in the corner are from Bonnie's scrapbook store in York, PA. Thanks, Bonnie, for being so helpful! Everything was accented with Stickles for the perfect sparkle.

Our Five Grandkids

Dylan, Bryan, Madelyn, Porter and Tyler...what a wonderful bunch :-) Here they are on Aunt Judy's front porch yesterday. Our trip was just great! The wedding was beautiful, and it was fabulous to be with family. I had so much fun with the children all week. Tori and I had lots of fun shopping, crafting, and I am now in LOVE with Martha Stewart glitter :-) On Saturday we had a big family gathering and taco salad dinner. What fun! The leaves are turning, and that is always such a thrill to me. It was a great trip.
